So close but not quite...
Last week my husband flew to my hometown and auditioned for a position in the Fort Worth Symphony. He played incredibly well and out of about 50 people auditioning for the job, he was named runner-up. (That means he didn't win, 2nd place gets nothing.) I'm so proud of him and his amazing capacity to consistently play perfectly and musically time and time again. It is a little frustrating....the job would have paid about $15K more a year than this one does, been in the same town as my folks, and only 4 hours away from his folks. $15K would mean a lot to us...being able to make bigger student loan payments, possibly a new car payment since our little toyota needs more work done than we paid for it, and possibly another child. It's so interesting how we can feel like something could really be the answer to so many prayers. But runner up? Apparently it's not the right answer. That's okay. I faith in the Lord's Plan for our lives. I'm just grateful Brian does have a great job and we're happy.

"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts" ...and in the wings of my stage, there is music.

you are such an exemplary, inspirational woman of faith, madelyn, and i love you :) i'm sorry that things didn't turn out the way you'd hoped (the job did seem ideal), but atleast you know that this just means the Lord really does have something even better in store for you - that the Lord knows something else that will make you EVEN HAPPIER than this job would have (which is hard to imagine, but it's true!) anyways, keep on being faithful and the Lord will continue to bless you and your little family :)
